Standard 10 Leadership and Collaboration
The teacher seeks appropriate leadership roles and opportunities to take responsibility for student
learning, to collaborate with learners, families, colleagues, other school professionals, and community
members to ensure learner growth, and to advance the profession.
Rationale: We are able to link this to standard 10 because this project was all about community
involvement and collaboration. Leadership is a quality that is incorporated into the teaching
profession. It is a teachers goal to help the younger generation grow into responsible members of our
democratic society. Continuously learning from others in the profession, parents, and members in the
community offers support for the advancement for students and advancement in the teaching field.
Description: Throughout this semester we have rallied together to collect donations for two
classrooms at Joyce Kilmer Academy, IPS School 69. In the slides that follow we have documented
our research.
