Purpose is
Your resume is a self-marketing tool. The
purpose of the resume is to effectively
communicate your assets in writing to an
employer. You need to know what employers
want, and then present it to them in a clear, easy
to follow format. It is an art, not a science, and
should be tailored for the job you are applying
for.

STAR Method
SITUATION: use specific details about a situation
or task
TASK: Tell what led to the situation or task
ACTION TAKEN: Discuss what you did and who
was involved
RESULT: or outcome
First Words
Speak with confidence, enunciate clearly, and try
to sound positive and upbeat
Nice to meet you, Mrs. ___. Thank you for
taking the time to interview me today.
IF they start the interview with Tell me about
yourself... be ready with an answer...the less
hemming and hawing here the better. This
should be a simple question, so if you struggle it
makes you look bad!

respond in one of the two following scenarios.

and it is VERY busy. You notice a large spill on
the tile floor in a fairly high traffic area of the
restaurant.
2) You are working at a store and while you are
shelving items, you notice your coworker
appears to be stealing from the till.
