Classroom Management Plan


I believe classroom management is the key component in any educational setting.
I believe that if students are in a safe environment, then learning can take place.

Statement of Purpose
Our classroom will provide a safe, positive learning environment, which promotes
cooperation, creativity and academic success. All students will be active
participants in the educational process in order to achieve their full potential.

Classroom Rules
Rule 1:
Raised Hands. I will raise my hand to share ideas.
Rule 2:
Quiet Mouths. I will use a soft voice.
Rule 3:
Walking Feet. I will walk in school to be safe.
Rule 4:
Helping Hands. I will use my hands for helping and not hurting.
Rule 5:
Caring Hearts. I will use kind words and be kind to all.
Rule 6
Bring what you need with you. I will be prepared.
Rule 7
Listen to the teacher. I will use my listening ears.

Rule 8
Follow directions. I will do my best to follow directions.
Rule 9
Do your best. I will do the best I can do.

Classroom Procedures
Procedure 1: Story Time - Song
1. Mouth is Quiet.
2. Eyes on the Teacher.
3. Hands in your Lap.
4. Ears Listening.
5. Be Still.
Procedure 2: Hallway
1. Quiet as a mouse.
2. Hands by your sides.
3. Single file line.
4. Ears Listening.
5. Be Still.
Procedure 3: Bathroom
1. Ask teacher before leaving the room.
2. Take bathroom pass.
3. Use the bathroom.

4. Wash your hands.


5. Return to your classroom.
Procedure 4: Morning Entry
1. Put your kindergarten folder in your mailbox.
2. Order your lunch.
3. Answer question of the day.
4. Read a book.
5. Be Still.
Procedure 5: Goodbye
1. Empty mailbox and cubby.
2. Have teacher intial assignment notebook.
3. Line up by assigned wall.
4. Be still.
5. Hug/ high five.

Level 1:

Class reminder of the rules.

Level 2:

Individual reminder of rules.

Level 3:

Modification. Child will be removed from the situation (return to seat, move
to a different table, move closer to the teacher, etc.)

Level 4:

Student will sit in the "brain chair" to think about better actions.

Level 5:

Note or call home.

Level 6:

Trip to the principal's office.

Crisis Plan
1: Send a student to the office with a crisis behavior card.
2: Send the rest of the class to a neighboring classroom.
3: If possible, help the student in crisis to reestablish self-control.
4: Bring remaining students back to the classroom after the crisis has been
addressed.

5: Notify parents of incident.
