TP 7: Planning and preparation for learning

Task
Before:
Discuss the task with the teacher and arrange a good time
to observe her teaching a lesson. (this could be for as
little as 15 minutes)
During:
Record and make notes on what the teacher and the
learners are doing.
Make a table like this one, and you will focus on both
what the teacher is doing during the lesson AND what the
learners (students) PARTICIPATORY LEARNING are doing.

Summary

Observation mini interview (general questions) related to


planning and preparation for learning.
Teachers should plan before the lesson . My MST plan her
lesson by putting the important points , what she want
from the student to learn , some activities . She plan weekly
for whole units , they prepare every week a meeting to
discuss about the lessons and they do it in groups and
each of them do a part then they can share what they did
and they focus more at the activities but at the class there
work individually and how she is going to teach the
lesson . Sometimes she doesnt follow the lesson exactly
because that depend to the student and they already know

and can understand immediately so the teacher didn't take


a lot of time so she change the plan and some times she
skip lessons also ,teachers should be more flexible . always
she do something that is not planned for example some
games and some times she let them practice the numbers
so they count and they do that if she was busy . One of the
important thing when planning the lesson is the activities .
Finally , she do different activities to the students and not
the same because students have different abilities and
thinking .
Reflection :
Planing is so important because the teacher should know
what she is going to talk about so that can help her to
have enough time for teaching and activities . Before
planning the lesson I should think about is what I will
prepare will be useful , Are student will understand it easy
and what is the unit about . There some steps the teacher
should go through to be prepared and it is to create a
scadull for the semester , do some activities for the student
and make different so they will not get bored , think about
homework that she is going to give them . What I have
learned about teaching and planning is the teacher
should do more than one activity to the students , If the
teacher have a meeting during her class time she can
give the students work to do and it will be marked .
