Annotated Bibliography: Elderly Abuse in Nursing Homes.

"Administration on Aging (AoA)." What Is Elder Abuse?None, 06 Mar. 2015. Web. 06 Mar.
2015. This site shares information on what elder abuse means and the warning signs that
lead to abuse on your loved one it also share other resources and links to additional
information. This Site is reliable because it gives the same but additional information than
the other sites. There is no author in this but this site is very organized, clean, and very
honest. The audience that would be wanting to see this site would be all the people related to
elderly abuse and people that would want to find out about elderly abuse. My reaction was
that this site is very good and that more people should see it. B, M. P. "Physical Abuse |
Nursing Home Abuse Attorneys."/www.edgarsnyder.com. None, 5 Mar. 2002. Web. 17 Mar.
2002.
The basics of this summary is telling you about elderly and physical abuse the differences and
being a victim or being a loved one in a situation of being physically abused. This source is
reliable because it is listed as being on a Law Firm website by Representing Injured people. Its
relevant to me because it gives me an idea about what I should be looking for and what I should
be expecting on doing research on elderly abuse. This website doesnt site the person who wrote
it really made it easy for me to understand and think about putting my loved one in a great
facility. The audience that would be interested in reading this would be somebody that is looking
for a lawyer or information about what would happen or what they do during a situation like this.
My reaction was Thankful because it has made it easier for me to look up information. Hedman,
Susan Alvare., Jetta Lee. Fuzy, and Suzanne A. Rymer. Hartman's Nursing Assistant Care: Longterm Care. Albuquerque, NM: Hartman Pub., 2014. Print. This book gives Information for

nursing assistants the guidelines and the right procedures to Long-term care in different
facilities. It teaches the student how to be compassionate, holistic, and give respectful care. This
book is reliable because it tells you and teaches you what a caregiver is suppose to do and how
they should treat a resident with respect and lots of care. The author of this book is Suzanne
Alvare Hedman, has a very private personal life that couldnt really be search. Susan has written
6 of these Harmans Long term care books and is very successful with her work. The audience
would have to be someone that would want to be a CNA / Certified Nursing Assistant who
wanted to know what they did and what they should and should not do and different care
facilities and so on and so fourth. My reaction to this book is that it gives you a lot of
information and narrows down what a nursing assistant should do to be the right care giver.
Robinson, Lawrence. "Elder Abuse and Neglect." Elder Abuse & Neglect: Warning Signs, Risk
Factors, Prevention, and Reporting Abuse. Joanna Saisan, 11 Feb. 2015. Web. 11 Feb. 2015.
This article tells us different kinds of abuse how to report the abuse and keeping an eye out on
abuse in the nursing homes and signs physically emotionally and mentally. This source is
reliable because it talks about the steps in different kinds of abuse and how to approach it. This
article helps me with defining what abuse is and its not just physical its mental and emotional
and there is more information about how to approach it. Sadly there was no information found
on Lawrence Robinson but the writing of this article was very detailed and very direct to the
person reading it. The audience that would be pushed toward this is someone that would want
information about abuse in general. My reaction was relieved because there is more information
about abuse but not on just physical abuse. Ruppe, David. "Elderly Abused at 1 in 3 Nursing
Homes: Report." ABC News. ABC News Network, 30 July 2015. Web. 27 Feb. 2015.This News

broadcast is basically about Elderly Abuse is being taking in to many places and what goes on in
the nursing homes and what happens to these residences in the nursing homes. The reasoning
for this being a reliable source is because its broadcasted on ABC News and not only that but it
also releases information about investigations that have been taking place to these different
facilities. This information explains more than there was to look for and really helped out.
David Ruppe the writer of this article he was educated at Lehigh University and he has been
recommended by a few people. The audience for this article would have to be people that have a
loved one in a nursing home or other care facility. My reaction to this article is shocking and it
makes me disgusted to know that some people could have the heart to treat with someone with
so much disrespect and neglect makes me want to let everyone know that this is really a problem.
"Transition to Care." Care Conversations. Care Organizations, 09 Oct. 2014. Web. 19 Mar.
2015. This site tells families of loved ones what to expect in process of putting their loved ones in
a nursing home facility though out the first week, first day, and the first month in being a resident
in a facility. By helping them feel more at home. This site is very helpful because it gets the
families ready to put there loved ones in a home and what to expect. There is no author for this
site but it is very well written and that its very narrowed down to the point of what its talking
about. The audience that would be helpful to is families that are going through this and have
never done it before. My reaction to this is that it is very helpful and that its very relieving to the
families. Morgan, Morgan &. "Orlando Nursing Home Abuse Lawyers | Florida Elder Neglect."
