HOW TO RESTORE ERASED PIC18F458 BOOTLOADER

FROM OP-COM SOFTWARE 2011,2012,..


FOR CHINA INTERFACE V5
(NOT V6 WITH FAKE PIC)

1. Insert OP-COM erased interface and look in Device Manager that its
detected and installed and if not install drivers from folder DRIVERS OK
2. PLEASE REMEMBER ALL SOFTWARE MUST BE RUN WITH
ADMINISTRATOR RIGHTS (Click right on program-Run as Administrator)
3. Now lets see if you have bootloader present:
Open OPCOMFUT v2.9.exe (with admin rights).
Go to FIRMWARE-Check Version/ID
If you have an image like below thn pic bootloader its ok, if you dont
and you have a message that says that bootloader not found then you
need to repair it.

4. So if you dont have a message as showed in the picture then you have to
restore bootloader of your PIC18F458

5. Go to OCFlash Folder and open OCFlash.exe(with Admin rights), select


Load Firmware and chose file Bootloader.hex . Also after this check on
FlashMode Only bootloader recovery without FW flash

6. Press FLASH button.


7. After this step your bootloader has been restored but to be sure do the
extra steps since you are here already.
8. Now after bootloader has been restored click Load Firmware-FW139.hex
, chose Automatic mode, and click Flash.

9. Now lets check that your interface its OK.


Go to OPCOMFUT folder and open OPCOMFUT V2.9.exe (remember to
run it as Administrator)
Go to FIRMWARE-Check Version/ID
If you have an image like below thn pic bootloader its ok

10. That its all, now you have a functional clone again.
