o Welcome to a very interactive class! You are an instrumental part of this course,
and your active participation is greatly appreciated tonight! Tonights class should
leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed, armed with resources to battle stress and
rekindle that mind and body connection.
o Introduction to mindfulness: Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn discusses his personal definition
of the concept of being present in the moment, or mindfulness (Kabat-Zinn,
2013). Following the video, discuss mindfulness with class. Do you currently
practice mindfulness? How can mindfulness help you improve your life?

o Introduce and discuss guided meditation. Ask class if anyone uses guided
meditations? If so, are they effective? Listen to study break guided meditation
podcast (Maddux & Maddux, 2014). Discuss class opinions and thoughts
