The poem criticizes some protests against police brutality that have involved looting and property damage. It acknowledges abuse by police needs to end, but argues looting stores and destroying local businesses discredits legitimate protests, helps no cause, and harms the community. The actions seem motivated by greed rather than addressing the real issues or enacting meaningful change.

A horrendous act by police
Such crimes have to cease
Behind a badge, bullies hide
Such abuse all rightly deride
Theres a serious question though
Is looting stores the way to go?
The look on a grinning, greedy face
Legitimate protest does disgrace
Theyre not showing how they feel
Rather, its just an excuse to steal
Any sound reason is lacking
The wrong ones theyre attacking
Why do they think they rightly should
Destroy jobs in their own neighborhood?
Of protest motives, such is bereft
Call it what it is -- simple theft

Protesters or criminals? What do you think?
