Objective
My goal is to transfer to UT Austin in order to obtain a four year degree. I would like to
major in physics in order to do research in astrophysics. After graduating I would like to
continue studying and earn a Doctoral degree. My career goal is to become a
researcher in the field of astrophysics.

Dear Mr. Fulton:
I am writing to apply for admission to the University of Texas at Austin. I would like to become a
student in the College of Natural Sciences to obtain a four-year degree in physics. My career
goal is to become a researcher in the field of astrophysics.
My education, so far, consists of graduating from Mansfield High School. I attended the
University of North Texas for the 2014 fall semester until December. I then transferred to
Tarrant County College, where I expect to be until August 2015. I have taken courses such as
Pre-Calculus and expect to have completed Calculus I before the next fall semester. I will also
have completed General Physics II and General Chemistry I.
My work experience consists of working at Camp Thurman. I worked as an assistant counselor
for four years before being promoted to a counselor, which I worked as for one year. During this
time, I learned to handle responsibilities. I was in charge of keeping parents updated on their
childrens daily activities as well as being responsible for campers safety and leading them
through the daily schedule. In addition, I worked as a cashier at Subway Restaurant for five
months where I was trained in customer service.
Outside of school and work, I participated in extracurricular activities such as Boy Scouts. I
received leadership training and applied it in the form of organizing events such as a Court of
Honor. Lastly, I was eventually awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. In addition to scouts, I
participated in marching band during the summer and fall during high school. In my senior year,
I was Front Ensemble Section Leader, providing further experience in leadership.
The resume I have included will provide a wider overview of my education, experience, and
