VII. Conclusion
Convolution code is widely used in digital wireless communication system for detecting
and correcting the errors in received signal message bits. Furthermore, it seems that it is one of
the most important channel coding systems. In this practice, the BER (Bit Error Rate)
performances are obtained from the simulation of the convolutional coded transmission systems
in the slow Rayleigh fading multi-paths channels. The Viterbi algorithm is used to decode the
convolutional code. By simulation, it is shown that the improvement of BER using the
convolutional code in the presence of the fading provides a better performance gain than that of
the uncoded signal. Here it is noticeable that, to achieve the benefit of convolutional coded
signal, it is required to cross the minimum SNR.
