This document summarizes a research paper presented at the 9th Conference on Jet Flow Dynamics in March 2005 at Shiraz University. The paper introduces a new method for controlling the interaction and reducing mixing between a main jet flow and a cross-flow using two small inhibiting jets placed next to the main jet. The interaction of the vorticity fields from the main jet and inhibiting jets causes the breakup of formed vortices and significantly reduces the interaction between the jet and cross-flow. The study aims to examine and compare the wall shear stress with and without inhibiting jets. Numerical simulations using a finite volume method on a non-uniform moving grid showed that using inhibiting jets can substantially reduce wall drag caused by surface friction.
