1) A student named Gauravi Sharma filed a petition in the Delhi High Court alleging mistakes made by CBSE in checking her OMR sheet for the JEE (Main) exam. 2) CBSE produced the original OMR sheet in court which showed that the copy of the OMR sheet submitted by Gauravi Sharma was forged and fabricated. 3) While the court was inclined to prosecute Gauravi Sharma criminally, it instead imposed a fine of Rs. 50,000 to be paid to Lok Nayak Hospital in Delhi within a week, due to her young age and being in depression over her previous year's results.

Challenge of OMR Sheet

The attention of all the aspirants of JEE (Main) is invited towards the judgment
passed by the Honble High Court of Delhi in WP(C) No. 2970/2014 & CM Appl.
6172/2014 (Gauravi Sharma v/s CBSE ).

Ms. Gauravi Sharma, JEE (Main) -2014, Roll No. 25005016 (petitioner) filed a
petition before the Honble High Court of Delhi alleging mistakes by CBSE while
checking OMR sheets. The petitioner produced, before the Honble Court, copy of her
alleged OMR sheet which according to her had been downloaded from the website of
JEE (Main). The CBSE produced the original OMR sheet before the Honble High
Court. On perusal of original OMR sheet and the copy of OMR sheet submitted by
Writ Petitioner, the Honble High Court noticed that the copy of OMR sheet
submitted by the petitioner is forged & fabricated. Though the Honble High Court
was inclined to sanction the petitioners criminal prosecution, yet keeping in view her
young age and the fact that the petitioners father, who was present in Court, stated
that she had been in depression because of her results last year, only imposed a fine of
Rs. 50,000/- which should be paid to the Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi within a period
of one week. The receipt of the fine deposited should be filed with the Registry.
