Scope of Work This method statement is to illustrate the method and procedure for timber decorative items and built in fixtures installation at Suites and Corridors under Sundart scope. Construction Procedures A. General Procedure B. Preparation works of Pre-Fi i ili Generally, the carpentry works are prefabricated and pre-finished items supplied by Employer’s named supplier and these items include wall moulding, newel post, wardrobe shelf, staircase tread and riser and skirting etc. Minor assembly work will be carried out on site, Built in fixture and moulding are to be designed and manufactured in accordance with the approved material and shop drawings. ‘All wood preservative shall be applied to the unexposed surfaces of timber items facing masonry wall in the supplier’s factory. Alll fire retardant paint shall be applied to all timber decorative items in the supplier’s factory before deliver to site. ished Timber items (Fabrication Stage) All dimensions of timber items and built in fixtures are to be checked and verified as per the approved drawings and approved samples. Coordinate with Major Trade Contractor’s and other sub-trades for correct work sequence, Wet trade, drywall and MEP works should have been completed and work areas are to be made watertight and kept cleared and free from construction debris before timber items installation. All material and finishes of timber decorative items and built in fixtures, are to be quality checked at factory before deliver to site. C. Installation of Pre-Finished Timber Items Generally ii. Set out all timber items on wall and floor as required. Check all dimensions on site in ensuring that the prefabricated and pre- finished timber items will fit the site dimensions. Coordinate with Major Trade Contractor and other sub-trades MEP teams for work sequences and formation of cut outs. D. iii. iv. Install the timber items in position as indicated in approved shop drawings. Co-ordinate with Major Trade Contractor and MEP teams for subsequent E&M installations. Installation in Particular Wall Moulding and Skirting - Wall moulding shall be pre-cut and pre- mitred at factory and fixed to wall by liquid nail and pneumatic driven secret fixing pin. Skirting shall be cut and mitred on site to suit actual site dimensions and fixed to wall by liquid nail and pneumatic driven secret fixing pin. ‘Newel Post — Install stee! frame first and then install the prefabricated and pre-finished newel post in: position. The newel post shall be fixed to the previously installed steel frame by secret fixing screw. Screw heads shall be filled and painted to match, ‘Timber Staircase Tread and Riser 1. Timber ground shall be fixed to concrete steps by liquid nail and concrete nail. 2. Install the lower step by liquid nail and pneumatic driven fixing nail to timber ground as mentioned in item 1 above. The lower step shall be pre-assembled and pre-finished in factory. 3. Install the first step riser. The riser shall be fixed by liquid nail and pneumatic driven fixing nail to timber ground. 4, Install the first step tread board by screw fixing to timber ground. ‘The screw head shall be covered by wood plug (grommet) with same finishes. Wardrobe Shelf - The shelf support frame shall be screw fixed to wardrobe wall and the wardrobe shelf shall be placed on the pre-installed framework accordingly. Suitable wall substrate shall be provided by others to facilitate the screw fixing process. ‘Touching up works i. To fill all the screw / nail heads with approved filler and paint to match adjacent surface finishes, ji, Touch up minor scratches / chip due to damages to match adjacent finishes, ifany. |.
