In the circuit in Fig Q1, R = 2, L = 1mH and C = 0.4F.
(i)
(ii)
(iii)
Find the resonant frequency 0, and the half power frequencies 1 and 2.
Calculate the quality factor and bandwidth.
Determine the amplitude of the current at 0, 1 and 2.
Question 2
A load Z draws 12 kVA at a power factor of 0.856 lagging from a 120 V rms sinusoidal
source. Calculate:

Question 3
a) A coil is represented by a model consisting of an inductance L in series with a
resistance R. A voltmeter reading rms voltage reads 26 V when a 2-A (rms)
current is supplied to the coil. A wattmeter indicates that the average power
delivered to the coil is 20 W. Determine L and R when = 377 rad/s.
b) Assume the coil in (a) is connected to a 26-V (rms) source at the frequency =
377 rad/s. Find the complex power delivered to each element of this circuit.
Verify the principle of conservation of complex power.
Question 4
