Technology Integration2

Stephanie Littlejohn is planning a lesson to teach 1st grade students spelling words using technology. She will use a story with the spelling words and the websites Kahoot and Spelling City. Kahoot allows her to create spelling games and monitor students. Spelling City provides games and practice for students. The lesson will help students learn spelling through auditory and visual methods. Stephanie will prepare parent letters about Spelling City and a Kahoot game. She will guide students through examples and later allow individual work. Monitoring Kahoot will help identify students needing extra help.

Lesson Planning
3A. Phase 1
1. The lesson I am planning is based on weekly spelling words. I would use a story that goes
along with the spelling words that come from the 1st grade curriculum. In addition to help
students we would use a site named Kahoot. Kahoot is a site I can use to create my own games,
questions and etc. Students are also able to use Spelling City at home and school. Teachers go to
spelling city and put the spelling words in for the week. Students are able to use Spelling City as
a resource in addition to what we learn at school. Spelling City allows student to play games,
take test, gives sentences and etc. Students have different learning styles. Some students are
auditory. Some students are visual learners. Some students prefer working on their own
compared to working with small groups. With integrating technology I am ensuring that I am
reaching all of the students.

with my own game for Kahoot, I would word processing, and a spreadsheet.
4. To prepare the learning environment students would have to pay close attention as I guide
them through a series of examples. Questions would also be done as a group first. Later
