It also describes, understands, and explains how learning takes place throughout life and how formal and informal education affects learning and ability to lead a productive life. Educational research attempts to solve a problem using new or existing data gathered from primary sources through accurate observation and rigorous analysis to develop generalizations and theories for understanding, predicting, and controlling education. It requires expertise, takes efforts to remain objective and unbiased, and is carefully recorded and reported.
