Assignment: Corporate Performance Analysis

This should be written as a comprehensive report, no longer than 8 pages double


spaced times new roman 12 font with standard margin. Appendices and executive
summary should be in separate pages and are not counted for page limit
(mentioned above). Answer the following questions in the main body of the paper in
such a way that develops a flow or story. Your answers should automatically
lead to the recommendations you will provide for the company. Use appendices for
detailed calculations, assumptions (if any) and explanatory points to back up your
arguments.
Questions to answer:
1. Which industry is your focal company operating in? Summarize the industry
in terms of market size, growth, prospects, competition, number of players
and prevailing issues or causes of concern for the overall industry.

2. Describe the business model of the major firms in the industry (apprx.
page)
3. Identify three major competitors of the focal firm. How are these companies
different and similar in terms of business model and business strategies?
(apprx 1 page)
4. Evaluate the focal companys performance with reference to last couple of
years in terms of profitability, efficiency and liquidity. Do you find any issues
or causes of concern that may affect future performance of the company?
Explain. (apprx 2 page)
5. Evaluate the focal companys performance with respect to its competitors?
Make a forward looking analysis of competitive position of the company?
(apprx 1 page)
6. In light of your analysis, provide your recommendations. Explain clearly how
your recommended actions will be beneficial for the company in the
short/long term. Also explain the implications of your recommended actions
on the company financials and propose some ways to deal with such
implications. (apprx 2 page)
