You are very correct...

In fact, Howard Roberts had a book out in the 80's called, "The Accelerator: The
Theory-Fingerboard Connection" (by Howard Roberts, Charles Fechter, and Keith Wyatt).
Charles ended up teaching the accelerator_ classes at G.I.T. (and later recorded a multi-part video series
available in the library at M.I.). It discussed quite a good deal of information in regard to many Asian
learning methodologies. When applied, they certainly do make a differenc
