Traheea

The trachea has 4 layers: the mucosa, submucosa, fibromusculocartilaginous layer, and adventitia. The mucosa contains a ciliated pseudostratified columnar epithelium and a loose connective tissue layer. Below this is the submucosa containing loose connective tissue and tracheal glands. The fibromusculocartilaginous layer consists of hyaline cartilage in a C shape, smooth muscle, and dense connective tissue. The outermost adventitia is made of loose connective tissue.
