Begin with mat session. The focus of the discussion will


be about taste, explore tastes such as sour, sweet or no
taste.
Explore with children about how your taste may be
different compared to other people. For example ask
students who likes tuna and who doesnt. What does
tuna taste like to them?
Pair children up to try different fruits with blindfolds on.
Children will try to explain the taste and guess what fruit
they are eating. Children will then be shown what the
fruit was. Repeat with four fruit, then swap who is
wearing the blindfold.
The children in their pairs will then brainstorm what
healthy and unhealthy foods are and some examples.
As a class come up with a definition of healthy foods.
Each child will independently work on the app Fruity
Smoothies! In this app the students will explore different
fruit combinations and design a healthy smoothie.
Then they are going to open up app about making
healthy smoothies, let children make a few first.
In groups of four or five children will follow the recipe
from the IPad app and put their foods in a container to
mix.
The teacher will then mix the fruits together and children
can taste the final products.
