Chapter 5

DWT based WiBro is a compelling solution for high performance, low cost broadband wireless services due to its attributes and performance capabilities. It addresses the global market through a common broadband radio access technology and flexible network architecture. The performance of DWT based WiBro, based on the IEEE 802.16e standard, was evaluated under different modulation schemes, coding rates, FEC coding schemes, and SNR noise levels, and it was found to efficiently adjust its modulation method instantaneously based on channel conditions to optimize data transfer and increase system capacity.

CHAPTER 5

CONCLUSION
The attributes and performance capability of DWT based WiBro makes it a compelling
solution for high performance, low cost broadband wireless services. DWT based WiBro is
on a path to address a global market through a common wide area broadband radio access
technology and flexible network architecture. The performance of the DWT based WiBro
is based on the IEEE 802.16e standard, was evaluated and assessed at different: (i)
modulation schemes; (ii) coding rates; (iii) FEC coding schemes, and (iv) SNR noise
levels. As a result of the comparative study, it was found that: when channel conditions are
poor, energy efficient schemes such as QPSK were used and as the channel quality
improves, 16-QAM or 64-QAM was used. It adjusts the modulation method almost
instantaneously for optimum data transfer, thus making a most efficient use of the
bandwidth and increasing the overall system capacity.
