Site and Situation Comparison
Goals: to compare the human factors in a city (site and situation)
to examine the Whats Where, Why There and Why Care factors
Choose 2 international cities and compare them (you can use a Venn diagram or other graphic
organizer) by describing their Site and Situation.
To describe Whats Where?, draw/locate or create 2 maps one for each city. Include bodies of
water, major landforms and a compass.
For Why There?, use words and pictures with captions to describe the situation (human,
physical factors) and site (absolute, relative locations, strategic, harbor, meeting place, natural
resource) of both cities.

there (remote location, landforms, climate). How does site and situation compare for your two
cities? Rank them based on site and situation.
