Structural Analysis (CVP 242) Practical


Semester II, 2014-15
Attendance Rules:
Attendance of lab sessions is compulsory. A student missing a lab session loses the marks
allotted for attendance. No exceptions will be made on account of absence from practical
sessions. Genuine cases will be considered provided a medical certificate from medical
practitioners (e.g., IIT Doctors) and an official application is produced.
Loitering around, gossiping, chatting on cellphones etc. are not allowed during
conduction of experiments. Students must cooperate with the TAs while the experiments
are conducted.
Lab sessions start at 2-30 PM. Please maintain punctuality of attendance.
Disciplinary action will be taken against students who do not follow the rules of the
lab.
Lab Report Submissions:

Lab reports for a particular experiment have to be submitted COMPULSORILY on the


next lab class. If there is an intervening holiday, it should be submitted the following
week.
Lab reports have to be written on A4 sheets. The sheets should be maintained properly
inside a file in the name of the student.
While writing a report on an A4 sheet, please maintain 1 inch margins on all sides.
Please write your name, roll number, the group and subgroup number and the date when
the experiment was conducted above the top margin of the sheet.
Please pay attention to the report since there are marks allotted for the presentation.

Lab Manuals:

A scanned copy of the Lab manual will be uploaded on the website. Students should take
printout of one copy for the group to record the data which will be signed by the
concerned TA.

In general, the lab manual offers guidance for writing the report.

Distribution of marks:
Lab Attendance + Experimentation 25% + Lab Report 25% + Viva 50%
