1.

Go to "My Computer" or select whatever drive your main War Thunder Folder of
files is housed on.
2. Locate the War Thunder Folder in the C drive or whatever you use. Depending o
n your Operating System (Windows 7 specifically- will make one for Windows 8) th
e War Thunder files might be in a regular "Program Files" folder or if using 64
bit Windows 7 or Windows Ultimate, they may be located in the "Program Files (x8
6)."
3.Once you locate the War Thunder main files, once you confirm that you have the
right folder, right click the "War Thunder" folder, click copy, and paste it to
your desktop. You make a copy and paste so that launcher within the copied file
is the only one that gets changed when you access the dev server.
4. Once copied (may take a while), open the folder and make a new file for the d
ev server. Copy one of the "WarThunder.yup" files and paste the copied file. Usi
ng the copied file, click on the name to rename it and MAKE SURE to select all o
f the text in the name including the FILE EXTENSION. Once selected, rename it to
"matchingdevmode"
5. This should prompt a window saying, "The file may become unusable, are you su
re you want to proceed?" Click yes. The reason why you do this process this way
is because you need to know that the file was correctly changed fully so that th
e matchingdevmode file is working properly. Verify it is working correctly by cl
icking the file and looking in the bottom left corner of the window and make sur
e it says "file."
6. If it has changed, proceed by deleting the "config.blk" and the "warthunder.y
up" files. When you run the launcher, the launcher will remake those files so no
worries.
7. Confirm that you are running the launcher in the dev mode by clicking the wre
nch icon in the top right corner of the launcher and looking under server and ma
ke sure it says "dev server" as well as checking the bottom right corner of the
launcher for "dev server" in red. If so, it should work fine and once the launch
er updates you should be ready to go.
