P (Freshman Failure Prevention Program)


Rosemount High School
Purpose:

To create core academic opportunities for Grade 9 students


who are at risk for failing any academic core course.

Stakeholders:

Grade 9 students, Teachers, Counselors, School


Administrators, Parents and Coaches.

Program Design: RHS Grade 9 Students will meet in designated classrooms


on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings after school to
receive instruction from Grade 9 teachers. Student selfselect which classroom to join and the amount of time
needed to complete coursework for their chosen subject.
Teachers will be available from 2:45 pm until 4:30 pm for
assistance. Assignment completion is the primary goal for
each session as well as study sessions for mid-trimester
and final trimester common formative assessments.

Program Goals:
1. Reduce the number of failures by Grade 9 F.L.I.P.
participants by 100%.
2. Eliminate the need for extended day targeted service
course in core areas during the school year.
3. Increase student success rate during Grade 9
