DSP Assignment Test

This document contains two sets of questions for an assignment test on digital signal processing. Set 1 includes questions about sampling using a block diagram, deriving the equation for signal reconstruction from samples, proving the differentiation property of the discrete-time Fourier transform, listing frequency components and finding the frequency when a signal is sampled, and deriving frequency domain relations for downsampling. Set 2 includes questions about signal reconstruction using a block diagram, deriving the sampling theorem, proving the differentiation property of the z-transform, finding the minimum sampling period and suitable sampling frequency for a given signal, and deriving frequency domain relations for upsampling.

Set 1
1) Explain the sampling process using a block diagram.
2) Derive the time-domain equation for a signal reconstructed from its samples.
3) Prove the differentiation property of DTFT
4) Given a continuous-time signal of frequency 1000 Hz, a digital signal is
formed by sampling the signal at 4000 samples per second. List at least 4
frequency components in the sampled signal. Find the frequency of the digital
signal.
