Culminating Task
The following task is comprised of two parts. Part 1 is the culmination of our yearlong File Management
project. Part 2 will be an individual Student Portfolio. These two culminating tasks will makeup 10% of your
final mark.

Part 1: File Management


At the beginning of this semester you created a file management system that you were asked to maintain
throughout the semester. Part 1 of your Culminating Task is to conclude your file management by ensuring
all your files and folders are correctly named, filed and ready for use during both parts of our final exam.

Requirements:

Must include a top folder which includes your name and course code

Must include folders for all units and subtopics listed on our course Moodle

Must include all original assignment files and instruction files listed on our course Moodle filed into
correct folders

Must include all individual, pairs and group edited assignment files which were submitted to the
Moodle filed into their correct folders

Must follow the instructions defined in the File Management Best Practices reading including:

Clear, unique, and consistent files names which follow the correct naming guidelines

Clear, unique, and consistent hierarchy management of files and folders

Must be located in your personal H: drive and backed up on either Google Docs or an USB drive.

Submission:

Your top folder should be copied and placed into the folder with your student number in the course
BTT101 folder on your desktop under assignment submission

A screenshot of your backup should be placed into the same folder outlined above

Part 2: Electronic Portfolio


A portfolio is a collection of a persons best work. The pieces within the portfolio should reflect the
individual and their accomplishments and/or work they are most proud of.
In part 2 of the Culminating Task you are required to create your own electronic portfolio. Your portfolio will
include a number of items that you have completed throughout the semester to reflect your best work in
from each of the Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Electronic Presentations, Desktop Publishing and two
samples from the remaining units.
Your portfolio will be published on the website your created during the website design unit. The
requirements for your digital portfolio are outlined below.

Requirements:

Website must have a main page with 5 linked pages

Homepage: Introduce yourself, your interests and your educational goals going forward which should include
the following:

What you have learned?
Difficult and enjoyable moments
Importance of this course with respect to your education
Competency checklist Self-Evaluation (see file named BTT101 - Competency Checklist.doc on the Moodle)
Overview of what is included in your portfolio

Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Electronic Presentations, Desktop Publishing, & Additional


pages should include the following:

upload two work samples from each unit which best reflects your work
list the competencies demonstrated in each task (from the competency checklist)
short description of each sample (assignment) and why this sample was chosen
explanation of how you are going to use skills that you developed while working on
these assignments

Website should have a well planned layout, easy navigation, consistent template and design, proper
fonts, images and objects

Only assignments that have been marked can be used in your portfolio

Submission:

Your website should be published and a link to the website should be submitted to the Moodle under
the Culminating Task - BTT Portfolio Assignment link
