Government to Citizen (G2C)

Government to Citizen (G2C) refers to public services provided by the government to its citizens via
electronic means. This strategy aims to enhance the service quality and deepen participatory democracy
online.
1.

The three most important e-portals in Singapore are eCitizen (www.eCitizen.gov.sg), eCelebrations (www.ecelebrations.gov.sg) and www.gov.sg where e-Users can find all necessary
information. However, the main portal is eCitizen.

2. The services on the eCitizen portal include e-Information, e-Filing, e-Registration, e-Payments
and e-Democracy.
3. E-Participation is generally defined as ICT supported participation in processes involved in
government and governance. Citizens can participate in government policy making via online
social networking and other platforms where their views are sought. They can also contribute
ideas and ways to improve service delivery through crowdsourcing platforms and events.
4. The online platform REACH (Reaching Everyone for Active Citizenry Home) was launched in
response to a growing need to keep Singaporeans who were located all over the world to
remain in touch with current issues happening locally. Overtime, the platform evolved to
increase channels of interaction as well as accommodate new response methods, such as quick
polls.
5. eCitizen is organised to serve your needs without you having to know which government agency
is responsible for a particular service, policy or programme.
6. The services on the eCitizen portal include e-Information, e-Filing, e-Registration, e-Payments
and e-Democracy.
7. Under the e-Information service, citizens can access information from the eCitizen website
home page, such as Business, Defense, Election, Education, Employment, Family, and Housing
appear, with 48 main e-Services.
