Initial IP Configuration Via Serial Cable

Initial IP configuration of a network switch involves connecting a serial cable from the switch to a computer without powering on the switch, starting a terminal session at 9600 bits/second with no parity or flow control, powering on the switch and waiting for the login prompt, then logging in with the default admin username and password and changing the passwords for all default user accounts.
