About Aisha Rimi
Aisha Rimi is principal partner of Rimi Partners, an Abuja based law firm, specializing
in corporate legal services, business advisory and government relations.
Ms. Rimi received her Law degree and Masters in International Commercial Law from
the University of Buckingham, in England in 1989 and 1990 respectively and was called to
the Nigerian Bar in 1991.
Ms. Rimi has a professional background in corporate/commercial Law with 22 years
professional experience first as an Associate, then Partner with Ajumogobia & Okeke a
leading Lagos, Nigeria based general corporate law practice. During this time, she worked
in both the corporate/commercial and litigation practice groups of the firm and gained
experience in numerous matters covering general aspects of Nigerian commercial law and
related litigation.
She also spent a year at the New York law firm of Chadbourne & Parke LLP, as a
Visiting Attorney, in the Corporate/Project Finance groups, before joining GWI
International LLC, a US based consulting and advisory firm specializing in working with
international companies seeking to do business or actively engaged in business across
Africa and the Caribbean.
In 2008 Aisha Rimi set up Rimi Partners and has used the firm to consolidate on her
years of legal practice, government relations and business advisory services. She has
continued to render a range of legal services to a varied client base, comprising financial
institutions, multinationals, in-house counsel, foreign investors, sovereign governments
and individuals on a multiplicity of matters which include advice on setting up, organizing
and the management of businesses; Mergers & Acquisitions; divestitures; shareholder
management, technical service and joint venture agreements; distribution, co-promotion,
licensing and supply contracts; real estate investments; employment/labor law; and the
protection of intellectual property rights.
In rendering government relations services, she has assisted clients in reviewing and
preparing documentation for submission to and discussions with key decision makers;
attended meetings on their behalf; followed up with government agencies on
submissions and applications and generally provided a customized service to suit the
client's particular needs.
