AIM:
(i)
Waveform Generators
To design and set up op-amp based circuits to obtain (i) square &
triangular waveforms (ii) sinusoidal waveform.
PROCEDURE:
(i) Square - Triangular Waveform Generator
1. Design the circuit in fig.1 to generate a triangular waveform of 1kHz
frequency and 6V peak.
2. Set up the circuit. Observe and record the voltage waveforms Vo1, Vo2 and Vx.
3. Change the capacitance value in fig.1 to 10nF and 1nF. Repeat step2.
4. Modify the circuit in fig.1 to generate a triangular waveform of 1kHz
frequency with the swing between 0V and 6V. Observe and record the voltage
waveforms Vo1 and Vo2
5. Modify the circuit in step 4 to get a 25% duty cycle square wave of
1kHz.Observe and record the voltage waveforms Vo1 and Vo2
6. Modify the circuit in step 5 to obtain a ramp signal of 6V peak, 0.75ms sweep
time and negligible retrace time. Repeat step2.
7. Observe the dc level of the ramp signal.
8. Modify the circuit in fig.1 to get a variable frequency square-triangular
generator, with linear control on frequency without a change in the
amplitudes of square and triangular output waveforms. (Simulation only)
(ii) Sine Wave Generator
1. Design the circuit in fig.2 for a sinusoidal output of 1kHz frequency and 9V
peak.
2. Set up the circuit. Observe and record the output waveform.
3. Change the resistance values (slightly) for R 2 and R2 and observe the
changes in the output.
4. Try to obtain the output without the amplitude stabilization circuit.
5. Repeat steps1-3 for an RC phase shift oscillator. (Simulation only)
