The purpose is to inform the educational communities and families of


the benefits of both textbooks and tablets in our schools.
How does a writer select content material to achieve a particular
purpose for a particular audience?
By research and interviews of educators, administrators, students and
their families.

What types of evidence are acceptable to support claims?
Opinions of educators, proven statistics regarding students work and
grades. Also, opinions of students and their families.

Limitations placed on this information will be based on the pros and
cons of the research regarding this topic.
What is a typical sequence for the information in this genre?
The information will be organized in a well written format, wuth
detailed, informative data from precise research that have been
conducted with educators, administrators, students and their families.

How does the structure serve the writers purpose?

Style/language

The structure will serve the writers purpose by informing in detailed


descriptions, with easy wording that is understandable detailing the pros
and cons of text books vs. tablets in grades k-6.
How formal/informal is the language?
The language will be formal, direct and written with precise sentence
structure.
What specialized vocabulary is used?
The language will be specialized in an educational format and
vocabulary ; also specialized technology vocabulary will be used.
What other language features do you notice (text, type, font, color,
visuals etc)? Noticeable was dark font, pertinent words were italicized
and pictures of different grade level textbooks and different brands of
tablets and laptops.
