1. INTRODUCTION 1.1. This standard describes a standard test method to determine the maximum roughness depth, R (max), and
peak count, Pc, of steel prior to coating.
2. REFERENCED DOCUMENTS 2.1. ASME 2.1.1. B46.1 - Surface Texture (Surface Roughness, Waviness, and Lay)
3. EQUIPMENT 3.1. A portable profilometer capable of recording the maximum roughness depth, R (max), and peak count, Pc.
4. MATERIALS 4.1. A sufficient length of uncoated, recently abrasive blast-cleaned, steel reinforcing bar.
4.2. Do not handle directly or otherwise contaminate the area of specimen to be tested
