1. What is computer Office Automation?

Office automation refers to the varied computer machinery and software used to
digitally create, collect, store, manipulate, and relay office information needed for
accomplishing basic tasks and goals.

2. Explain briefly what is a word processor, spreadsheet, database and


others that we can find in MS Office?
Word Processor: A program or computer that enables user to perform word
processing functions.
Excel: A table of values arranged in rows and columns. Each value can have a
predefined relationship to the other values.
Database: A collection of information organized in such a way that a computer
program can quickly select desired pieces of data. Also known as electronic
filing system.
Publisher: Create and edit newsletter, brochure, flyers and websites
PowerPoint: Create and edit presentation for slide shows, meetings and web
pages
Outlook: Send and receive e-mail; manage schedule, contacts and task; and
record Personal activities.

3. List and explain briefly two features that we can use in MS Word,
Excel, Publisher, Access, PowerPoint and FrontPage.
