Important System management programs:

Performance monitors are programs that


monitor and adjust performance and usage to run the
computer system efficiently.

Security monitors are programs that monitor and


control the use of computer systems and provide
warning messages and record unauthorized use of
computer resources.

Middleware is a software that helps diverse


software applications and networked computer
systems exchange data and work together more
efficiently.

Programming Language
Programming language allows a
programmer to develop the sets of
instructions that constitute a program.
A programming language has its own
unique vocabulary, grammar, and uses.

Programming Languages
Machine Languages (First generation languages):
Use binary coded instructions.
Assembler Languages (Second generation
languages): Use symbolic coded instructions.
High Level Languages (Third generation languages):
Use brief statements or arithmetic notations.
Fourth Generation Languages: Use natural and non
procedural statements.

Programming Languages
Object Oriented Programming Languages:
Visual Basic, C++, Java are considered to be Fifth
generation languages and are being used
widely. OOP are easy to use having GUI (graphical
user interface)

Web Languages and services: HTML, XML,


and Java are used to create multimedia web pages,
websites, and web based applications.

Programming Software packages are available


to help programmers develop computer programs.
