How do you spend your day?

Greetings: Hi! How are you? What is your job? What do you all day?
1. SNAP SHOT (pg. 8)
Questions:

What are those jobs shown in the picture?


Have you tried any of those jobs?
Do you know anyone who has that kind of job?

2. WORD POWER (pg. 8)


Instructions: A. Lets first read the jobs on the list. We will then complete the word map on the
right.
3. SPEAKING (pg. 9)
Instruction: Lets match the jobs on A with the descriptions on B and C.
4. CONVERSATION Where do you work? (pg. 9)
Note: Do the conversation together. Let the student pick his/her part and switch roles after.
5. GRAMMAR FOCUS (pg. 10)
Simple present Wh-questions and statements
Note: Read through and have the student repeat after the teacher. Proceed to part A where the
student will complete the conversations.

Instruction: Interview a family member using the following questions:

Note: Do the conversation together. Let the student pick his/her part and switch roles shortly

Note: Make the student list down 5 jobs that he/she knows. Have the student repeat after you the
words dancer, company and director. Have the student observe how each word should be
stressed.

Note: Take turns in using time expressions by asking each other what they have done since they
work up in the morning.
Instruction: A. Complete the sentences with time expressions./ C. Lets take turns in asking each
other questions from part C.
