CE 3155 - Structural Analysis (Part 2) Tutorial 2

This document provides the solutions to three structural analysis problems from a tutorial. The first problem involves determining support reactions for a beam with fixed ends and constant EI. The second problem involves determining reactions for a beam with fixed and roller supports. The third problem involves determining reactions for a beam with roller and pin supports and constant EI. The answers list the calculated support reactions for each problem.

CE 3155 Structural Analysis (part 2)

Tutorial 2

1) Determine the support reactions. EI is constant.

2) Determine the reaction at the supports. Assume nodes 1 and 3 are fixed, and roller
condition at node 3.

3) Determine the support reactions. Assume roller condition at nodes 2 and 3, and
pin condition at node 1. EI is constant.

Answers:
1) R3 = -7.85 kN , R4 = 40.2 kN , R5 = 86.6 kNm , R6 = 39.6 kN

2) R2 = 41.4 kN , R3 = 7.725 kN , R4 = -2.3 kNm , R5 = 28.9 kN , R6 = 30.8 kN

3) R4 = -1.93 kN , R3 = 34.5 kN , R4 = 12.4 kN
