Islam

Originated in 610 A.D. The word Islam actually


means submission to God. Therefore, a Muslim is
one who strives to submit to God.

Muslims religion has 5 pillars:
Testimony, prayers (5 times a day),Pilgrimage
Charity and fasting





Muslims are the largest single group in the world
who circumcise boys after a week of their birth.





Muslims worship in Mosque and Believe in one God
(Allah).They believe that God is the creator of all
things, and that God is all-powerful and all-
knowing.




Islam has history of forced conversion in peaceful
manner.


Muslim men can wear turban and have beard
but most do especially after the haj.

Muslim men can have 4 wives at the same time


Islam requires animal eaten and be slaughtered
according to Halal rituals.


In Islam men are the provider and savior for women.
Women should obey the men especially their fathers
and husbands.

Sikhism
Originated with the birth of Guru Nanak in Punjab
circa 1469 and is based on the guru's writings and
teachings.

Sikhism has three pillars:
Meditation, honest earning,
Sharing resources and performing community
service.
(Wooden comb, steel bracelet, sword and especially
designed undergarments

Sikhism is against ritual mutilation of the genitals,
respecting the body as perfect in its natural state of
creation.





Sikhs worship in gurduawara
And believe in Ik Onkar meaning one creator who is
present in all creations.





Sikhism does not practice in conversion and
welcome who ever regardless of background.


Sikh has to wear turban and cant shave or remove
their hair


Sikhism code of conduct outlines marriage as a
monogamous relationship

Sikhism does not permit the eating of animal
slaughtered

Sikh women have equal status to men in every
aspect of life and worship. Sikh women are
encouraged to be educated, become
community leaders and are welcome to take part in
every ceremony.
