Stress at Job and Its Impact On Employee's Performance
Introduction
Stress has been defined in different ways over the years. Originally, it was conceived as pressure
from the environment, then as strain within the person. The generally accepted definition today is
one of the interactions between the situation and the individual.
Stress on the job is defined as the harmful physical and emotional responses that occur when job
requirements do not match the workers capabilities, resources, and needs.
It is recognized worldwide as a major challenge to individual mental and physical health, and
organizational health, Stressed workers are also more likely to be unhealthy, poorly motivated,
less productive and less safe at work. And their organizations are less likely to succeed in a
competitive market.
There are number of determinants which induces the stress at job but I describe three main
causes which can be Role conflict, Role overload and Role Ambiguity My research would
reflect the employers attitude towards the stress and its impacts on overall employee
