10% (GROUP WORK)
SEPTEMBER 2014 SEMESTER.

A) Below, is A Paragraph Writing Prompt. Students are required to
write A PARAGRAPH based on the prompt. (In class,
TUTOR/LECTURER will explain each prompt to the students).


Modern technology has certainly helped to make our lives easier; or
has it? With all the technological advances we have today, it seems
that we are busier than ever. Some historians could make the
argument that the development of modern technology has actually
made us a busier and more stressed society. Others could make the
argument that technology has allowed us as a society to become
more efficient and therefore more productive.

Write a paragraph about your opinion of modern technology and
how it has affected our society.

B) Students will then need to do some RESEARCH (library/internet)
in order to obtain relevant information (evidence).

C) Students will then come up with a good TOPIC SENTENCE that
has a focused CONTROLLING IDEA. Next, students will write
his/her PARAGRAPH with 3 relevant SUPPORTING DETAILS and
an appropriate CONCLUDING SENTENCE.

D) Students are to hand-in the WRITING (1) ASSIGNMENT to the
TUTOR/LECTURER in class.

The DURATION of the task and the LENGTH of the PARAGRAPH is up to the
discretion of the TUTOR/LECTURER.
