Grade Language Arts
Biography Project #1

Hello Parents & Students,
We are beginning the first of our three biography
projects for Language Arts. The biography projects are as
follows:





Students can choose someone to work on from the
attached Historical Figures Biography Sheet. Once the
student has chosen who they would like to work on, they
need to turn the form back in as soon as possible because
they will be approved on a first come first serve basis.
This means that students will not be allowed to work on someone who has already been
taken.
Please fill out the attached form (bottom portion only) and hand it back in by
10/24/14.
For your childs first biography project they are required to have a book from their
local library. The book must be a biography of at least 150 pages or more, and it must be
someone from the attached sheet. The book is due in class by 11/3/14. The book must be
in school during the day, but can go home for reading at night. This project will begin the
week of October 20
th
, and will not end until December 15
th
. A writing / presentation rubric
will be sent home during the week of November 3
rd
.
A good portion of this project will be handled in class. Students may need to complete
their reading, writing, typing or final copies at home (more information will come in regards
to power points and our wax museum on a later date).
