Course Code: BTM 447 Credit Units: 02



Course Objective:
To enable the students to comfortably interact using basic Japanese.
Note: Teaching is done in roman as well as Japanese script, students will be taught katankana (another form of script) in this semester
i.e. to be able to write all the foreign words in Japanese.

Course Contents:

Module I
Comparison using adjectives, making requests

Module II
Seeking permission

Module III
Practice of conversations on:
Visiting people, Party, Meetings, after work, At a ticket vending machine etc

Module IV
Essays, writing formal letters

Learning Outcome
Students can speak the language describing above-mentioned topics.

Methods of Private study /Self help
Handouts, audio-aids, and self-do assignments, role-plays.
Students are also encouraged to attend Japanese film festival and other such fairs and workshops organized in the capital from
time to time.
