Spelling Lesson 8 - Word Work Tasks 3 and 4


DIRECTIONS: Choose TWO of the following tasks to complete. Please complete each
on a separate sheet of paper.

ABC:

List the words in alphabetical order. List them one time going A to Z. List

them a second time going Z to A.

Type it up!;

Use a computer to type each word 4 times.

Rainbow Writing:

Write each word 1 time using pencil. Trace over each

word 3 times using 3 different colors.

Colorful Words:

Print each word one time in pencil. Write each word again,

but this time write the consonants in blue and the vowels in red.

Weird Writing:

Write each word 1 time on a sheet of paper. Each word

should be in a different color. The words should be written all over the pagesideways, up, down, diagonal-whatever! They should be written in different
fonts. Make it crazy!

Backwards Words:

Write all of your words forward then backwards.

Example: noontime = emitnoon

Memory Match:

Write your spelling words on cards (make 2 sets) and play

Memory Match with them against a sibling or parent. You will need to turn
in the cards.

Missing Vowels:

Write each spelling word without its vowels. Replace each

vowel with a blank line. Have someone try to figure out the correct word.
