PLANNING SHEET (35 pts)


WORKING WITH SLABS OF CLAY (200 pts)
You will be making TWO projects to demonstrate skill in working with slabs of clay:
1. TRIVET (horizontal)
a small plate placed under a hot serving dish to protect a table.


2. VESSEL (vertical)
a hollow container, especially one used to hold liquid, such as a bowl or cask.


Use this planning sheet to come up with a design plan/concept that links the two pieces together.
Like a set.

SPECIFICATIONS:
TRIVET:
1. SIZE: no wider than 6x6 No thicker than ________________
2. Must have cutouts (holes in the form of specific shapes)
3. Must have feet. Feet should not be thicker than .
4. Must be level and NOT curve at edges AT ALL. (Let it dry upside down!)


VESSEL:
1. No taller than 11
2. No shorter than 8
3. Bottom must be SEAMLESSLY BLENDED with sides (see demo)
4. Must match design of trivet. Can have cutouts too, but they need to be at the top.
