Guidelines to validate Form 16 Digital Signature

For Acrobat Reader version 7.0



Find below the screen shot of the digital signature with invalid status, which needs correction.



1. Right Click, on Validity unknown and select Signature Properties.
2. Select Show Certificate in Signature Properties.
3. Select Signer Tab -> Click Show Certificate.
4. Select Trust Tab and click Add to Trusted Identities.
5. Then hit Ok >> Ok to come back to Signature Properties.
6. Close the document and reopen again.
7. The Signature becomes valid as below

For Acrobat Reader version 6.0

Find below the screen shot of the digital signature with invalid status, which needs correction.







1. Right Click, on Signature Not verified and select Properties
2. Select Verify Signature in Signature Properties.
3. Click on Trusted Identities.
4. Then hit Ok >> Import >> Ok.
5. Close the document and reopen again.
6. The Signature becomes valid as below









































Guidelines to validate Form 16 Digital Signature




For removal of warning message from digital signature (any Acrobat version)

Find below the screen shot of the digital signature with warning message on mouse-over


1. Right Click on warning sign and select View Signed Version option.

2. New Form-16 PDF will open with editing features disabled.

3. Save a copy of this Form-16 PDF and close the document.
4. The digital signature will be valid without any warnings as shown below
