To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to recommend Samantha Kautz. Samantha is a former student of mine, having been enrolled in my Business Law class as a sophomore. I have also gotten to know Samantha through advising her regarding her educational and career opportunities during her time here at Central Michigan University.
In Samantha you will find a motivated, intelligent, and capable person. During her semester in my class she was always prepared, intellectually inquisitive, hardworking, and pleasant. She took a genuine interest in learning not only business law, but also in making connections with her other classes. Samanthas preparation for class and her intellectual abilities were impressive from the start. My class is a very interactive course where classroom participation is emphasized. Samantha quickly established herself as a learning-catalyst for the classroom discussions. She was always prepared and willing to contribute. Her contributions were always of the highest caliber. Yet, she was respectful of the contributions of her classmates. On many occasions, she came to the rescue of a classmate who was struggling with the material. She was also willing to enter the fray of a contentious debate and hold her ground while still being open to the ideas and arguments of others. She also worked to synthesize her prior knowledge with what we were discussing in class. Samantha demonstrated analytic and problem solving skills that were developed well beyond her peers.
But more impressive than her preparation, hard work, and even her intelligence was her open-mindedness to new and challenging ideas. This is not to say that Samantha was not willing to defend her arguments. While Samantha was more than willing to debate and defend her position with well-reasoned arguments, she was also inquisitive and collaborative. Her mature approach to learning truly set her apart. In the last three years I have watched Samantha grow into an articulate, intelligent, funny, and truly genuine person.
If I had to describe Samantha in one word, that word would be impressive. She stands out as one of the best students I have had the pleasure of teaching. Lastly, but most importantly, she is a person of very high moral character. I gladly give her my highest recommendation. If you have any questions regarding her qualifications, please feel free to contact me at (989) 774-4429. Sincerely,
Kenneth J. Sanney, J.D. Assistant Professor of Business Law & Regulation
