By asking an equal amount of students from each gender I will get a better idea of
what appeals to the entire student body as I am aiming my magazine at all
students of any gender. By asking students for their age I know what appeals to
different age groups and if they share any common interests with their
older/younger peers, this in turn will mean I can make sure my magazine is
interesting to everyone.

When people were asked about their favourite TV shows many replied with
programmes that air during the day (eg. Friends) or shown late at night when they
might be doing coursework (eg. Game of thrones, the walking dead, family guy).
When asked about their current favourite movie most replied with something that
has been shown recently in the cinema/something that has only come out this
year. This gives me an idea of the type of films students are interested in.

In addition to my other questions I asked students about where their favourite
place to dine out was. Many of the replies were restaurants either in or just outside
of the city, this information means that I should think to include information about
meal deals, or specials coming up in a few of the more popular restaurants
mentioned by students.
Many students use more than one social media site on a regular (sometimes daily)
basis, this shows me that social media has a significant influence on most students
lives so would be ideal to include something to do with social media on the front
cover of my magazine. I also asked students what technology they use regularly
and the majority of them use their mobile phone, TV and a laptop/computer daily.
The majority of students preferred magazine covers to have a celebrity portrait on
the front cover over any other form of image, when asked why they said because if
its a photograph of their favourite celebrity it makes them want to buy the
magazine to find out what the article is about and if the photograph is taken with
direct eye contact it draws their attention.
By asking students what subjects they are taking and if they are enjoying them I
will know whether or not to include information about extracurricular activities,
subject help or information on how to drop subjects in my magazine. As you can
tell from my results the majority of pupils I asked did enjoy their subjects so I may
not need to include as much detail about those topics.

I asked 10 students if they paid attention to and were up to date with political
issues/events, most of them were not. Because of this I know to put a news column
in my magazine to inform students of whats happening in the political world in a
way that will be easily understandable and enjoyable.
All of the students I asked about technology, use one or more on a daily basis. This
shows me that I should think to include reviews and information on new
models/apps in my magazines. As technology is a major aspect in all students
lives I could include an article about the impact of technology on teenagers/young
adults or advertisement about new models in my magazine.
