Bucharest Biennale

The Bucharest Biennale is an international contemporary art festival held every two years in Bucharest, Romania. The first Biennale was in 2006 and it has been held biennially since. It features exhibitions at numerous venues around the city and is organized by ARTBO, a journal for politics and culture. The 2006 edition included 34 Romanian and international artists and was curated by Hungarian critic Istvan Peternyi. Subsequent Biennales were held in 2008 and 2010, expanding to one month in 2010, and each had its own theme and international curators.

The !!' festival was curated (y the 8un#arian critic and curator 9solt )etranyi, and was held at
numerous venues throu#hout Bucharest, includin# the /ational $useum of :eolo#y, the /ational
$useum of -iterature (Romania), the /ational ;entre for <ance, the Botanical :ardens, =outh
=hop and the 8er>str>u =kate )ark. 34 artists, (oth Romanian and international, participated in the
