Scope and Limitations
Scope and Limitations
With our country right smack on the typhoon path, we are no strangers to
natural calamities. When natural or man-made calamities occur, classes are often
disrupted, because mostly schools are designated as an evacuation centers most
particularly public elementary schools.
As climate change becomes a glaring reality, with storms becoming more
ferocious and flooding a regular occurrence, schools and the learning curriculum
should be more adaptable.
To address concerns on class disruptions as most of the public schools are utilized
as temporary shelters by those affected by calamities.
The scope of the project aimed to create a classroom design durable, adaptable
and functional that can perform as a school and, during disasters, can be used as
evacuation without disrupting its primary function as school. It includes the
security, sanity problems, water and electricity consumptions, and the
management of the school; and excludes the congestion of students or personal
problem within the school area.
