Tasks and sub-processes in a business process diagram both represent works that are performed
within a business process. With Agilian, you can model business operation with business process
diagram, as well as to specify the steps for performing each task. In this tutorial, we will define the
steps needed for a task Cook in a restaurant system.
1. Download the project file Yummy Pasta.vpp attached to this tutorial.
2. Open the file in Agilian.
3. Open business process diagram Pasta Ordering.
4. Select the task Cook under the lane Chief.

5. The procedure editor at the bottom of diagram is activated. If you do not see the editor revealed,
right click on the background of diagram and select Show Procedure Editor in popup menu.
6. Click on the first row, next to the caption "1.".
7. Enter the first step Gather ingredients.
8. Press Enter to move to step 2.
9. Enter Cook. Press Enter to move to step 3.

10. Enter Serve the pasta with sauces as step 3.
11. Click the Grow Font button three times to increase the font size of content.
12. We want to elaborate the step Cook by describing how to cook pasta. Click on step 2, Cook.
13. Press Enter to create a step. Press Tab to turn the step into sub-step 2.1.
14. Enter sub-step 2.1 Boil water.

15. Press Enter to create another sub-step and enter Add 1 table spoon of salt and 50ml of cooking
oil. Repeat this step to create sub-steps 2.3 to 2.5: Add pasta, Cook for 15 minutes, Drop pasta
into ice water for 5 minutes.
16. Save the project.
